This month we check out why Shade Sails are so popular.
Product Focus - Shade Sails
Shade sails are an economical and effective way to cool a large area; over a deck, spa pool or just provide protection over windows and doors. They are low maintenance and can be simply taken down in the winter months to brighten the days. We design, manufacture and install for both residential and commercial purposes with no fabric being cut until our poles are installed and the sail measurements checked to ensure 100% accuracy in fit and tolerance.

UVR and UPF Explained
Living in NZ we are aware of the affects UV has on our bodies and are conscious about how we can reduce these Ultraviolet Rays (UVR) reaching us. Placing UVR protective barriers above and to the side of an area is one way we can reduce these effects, intercepting the sun's rays before they reach us. Good quality shade should provide at least 94% protection from direct UVR and have a UPF of at least 20.
UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) Ratings measure the effectiveness of your shade stopping a percentage of UV rays reaching your skin. UVR Block measures how well the shade cloth reflects or absorbs Ultraviloet radiation. We have different fabric options available to satisfy all our customers requirements. They have high levels of UPF/UVR/shade to protect you from harmful UV rays and meet the UPF/UVR/shade levels required to use in educational facilities, kindergartens & preschools.
Maintenance
Should your Shade Sail become dirty we recommend avoiding using any chemicals that may attack the UV stabilisers within the Shade Mesh. Please use standard household dish washing detergent and a low-pressure water hose applied with a sponge or very soft brush. Always store dry. We also offer a take down, clean, restitch, store and reinstall service - just call us on 07 572 5509 to arrange.
