Project Spotlight: Seamless Ziptrak® Mesh Blinds Meet Modern Louvre Systems


Our team at Making Shade just completed a premium installation, creating the ultimate all-weather outdoor retreat.


For this project, we customized and retrofitted Ziptrak® outdoor mesh blinds directly to an existing louvre roof system. This powerful combination gives the homeowners total control over their outdoor environment—from overhead sun protection to complete lateral shade.

Tips for Operating Your Integrated System


If you have a similar setup or just had your new system installed, keep these operational tips in mind:


  • Operate from the centre: Always lift or lower manual blinds from the middle of the bottom bar to keep the mesh perfectly aligned within the customized tracks. 


  • Mind the wind: While highly durable, always roll your Ziptrak® blinds up and open your louvres slightly during severe storms to reduce wind loading on the structure. 


  • Dry before rolling: If a passing shower dampens the mesh, let it dry completely before rolling it up to prevent mildew growth. 


  • Easy maintenance: Wash down both the louvre powder-coating and the blind mesh with cold water and a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or pressure washers
